Diversity: Employing people with disabilities

The integration of people with disabilities is an important plank of AREVA’s human resources policy. Since 2006, the group has particularly focused on this area.

Contractual undertakings towards employees

On May 10, 2007, the AREVA group signed its first group agreement promoting the employment of disabled workers in France. The beneficiaries of this agreement are primarily the employees themselves. However, it is also possible to support professional training programs for the disabled child or spouse of a group employee, and, in a larger sense, to support the social engagement of employees in areas pertaining to the disabled.

Employment for the Disabled Week

AREVA is a partner of the national Employment for the Disabled Week, organized by ADAPT, which is held every November.

In 2009, the event acquired a whole new dimension with the introduction of a European day devoted to the integration of people with disabilities at AREVA.

“Handimanagement” program

Since 2006, AREVA has participated in the Handimanagement program, led by the Companieros association.

This program is intended to follow students in elite schools and universities over the course of an academic year as they undertake a project focusing on disability and promoting awareness among various education officials. School boards, professors and other staff are also involved, along with the students who will become the "enlightened managers" of tomorrow.

A Handimanager label has been created, with the issue of a passport designed to recognize the student's engagement in this disability-awareness initiative.
