Since 2003, AREVA has implemented various procedures to measure working conditions and employee satisfaction. The goal: to ensure staff well-being and better respond to their needs in social and human terms.

AREVA Way: assessing social progress

Since its inception, AREVA has made sustainable development the cornerstone of its industrial strategy. Through AREVA Way, the group expounds 10 major commitments to its employees.

One of these commitments is devoted to "Social involvement". AREVA undertakes:

  • to confirm its willingness to be an attentive, responsible employer,
  • to encourage professional development among its employees,
  • to monitor their working conditions.

Fully integrated in the daily work of the Human Resources Department and of company managers, this commitment, like all others, includes self-assessment covering the full range of social issues. Each unit can therefore measure the progress made and establish action plans that are consistent with overall objectives.

Opinion survey: measuring staff satisfaction

AREVA undertakes to promote the professional development of its employees and monitor the quality of their working conditions. In order to instill constructive dialogue, the group launched an Opinion Survey among staff in each subsidiary. The results of this survey provide objective, regular assessments of staff satisfaction regarding various social aspects.

Responding to employee expectations more effectively

Once the results of the Opinion Survey have been analyzed, they serve as the basis for implementing action plans aimed at meeting the needs expressed by staff members. This barometer of satisfaction has met with considerable success: 50,000 employees took part in 2008. The procedure is regularly standardized, and the surveys are carried out across the entire group every 2 years.
