AREVA firmly believes that a company must reflect the multiple facets of the society in which it takes shape. Diversity constitutes an essential factor of performance. It helps enhance discussions, brings contrasting competencies and visions head to head and is a source of innovation. In its approach, the group favors dialogue with social partners through the signing of agreements and constantly strives for greater pragmatism.

Social dialogue: a relationship of trust

AREVA seeks to develop social dialogue at all levels of the company.

This approach rests on the principles of honesty and transparency, which govern the relationships between human resources managers, social partners and management.

AREVA undertakes a firm commitment, through the signing of group agreements.

Promoting equal opportunities in Europe

A constructive, innovative social dialogue to implement equal opportunities in 13 European countries.

In November 2006, AREVA signed a European agreement to promote equal opportunities with the Fédération Européenne de la Métallurgie (FEM). 2007 witnessed 55 of the group's European units enter into commitments linked to this agreement, regarding gender equality in the workplace and employment of the disabled.

In 2008, an additional step was made with Open Dialogue through Equal Opportunities (ODEO), a project financed with the European Commission. ODEO was jointly developed by the European Group Committee and AREVA's Social Policy management, alongside the European Union, with the strong support of the EMF. It was jointly led by personnel representatives, human resources managers and group managers.

Thanks to ODEO, 50,000 AREVA employees have been made aware of the group's commitments to equal opportunities. Thanks to this project, AREVA now has an "Equal Opportunities Network" made up of 250 members (personnel representatives, human resources managers, group managers) with a full awareness of the issues, who are ready to get involved in this area. An ambitious, innovative initiative, ODEO enables AREVA to meet the commitments set out in the European agreement in a pragmatic, responsible manner.
