The annual results for 2012 show a significant turnaround in the group’s performance. Just one year after its launch, the Action 2016 plan is already delivering results. Thanks to the collective efforts of our operating and corporate teams, we are ahead of schedule on our recovery plan.

Our first half 2012 results show that the Group’s recovery is well underway thanks to the implementation of our “Action 2016” plan.

AREVA has been able to seize opportunities in a growing nuclear market through its dynamic commercial operations. Our orders intakes were up 14% in relation to the first half of 2011, primarily due to recurring installed base business, but also to the establishment of a simplified organization that enables us to be even more efficient at the commercial level and to capture market opportunities. This June Letter primarily reports on the first Annual General Meeting open to all AREVA shareholders, held on May 10, 2012. A large share of it is of course given to the major topics addressed by the members of the Executive Board during their presentations, but also to questions asked by the shareholders and to pictures taken during the meeting. First on the agenda for this Spring letter are the 2011 financial results. Chief Executive Officer Luc Oursel and Chief Financial Executive Officer Pierre Aubouin go over the details of the results, which reflect both the weight of the past and the early effects of our ambitious “Action 2016” strategic action plan to deliver competitiveness as well as safety in a post-Fukushima world.
