Competitive solutions working towards reliability
AREVA offers turnkey solutions for the construction of concentrated solar power plants, using two technologies: concentrated thermal solar power and concentrated photovoltaic solar power (CPV).
Technical expertise and know-how in project management
- Controlled costs and development timeframes thanks to AREVA's know-how in management of major projects.
- High-performance designs resulting from the group's competence in thermics and fluid mechanics.
- A supply of ingredients secured by the international dimension of the group and the implementation of sustainable partnerships with global leaders in the sector.
AREVA offers services for the design, purchase, and construction of solar power plants using concentrated thermal solar technology (also known as CSP, Concentrated Solar Power).
With this range of services, the group assists its clients in the creation of electricity production solutions that are competitive and free of CO2 emissions, thereby creating value effectively from insolation.
The group's know-how in project management and its expertise in thermics, fluid mechanics and materials guarantees the best service on the market.
These solutions are adapted to regions with a high degree of sun exposure in southern Europe, around the Mediterranean, in the south and west of the United States, Central America, Africa, China, India, the Middle East and Australia.
Two separate technologies
In the concentrated thermal solar power process, mirrors make the rays of the sun converge towards a tube in which water circulates. The water then heats up under the effect of the light rays and turns to steam. This steam is then used to run a turbine, which produces electricity.
CPV technology (concentrated photovoltaics) converts the energy from the sun's rays into electricity directly by making the light converge, using mirrors and lenses, on photovoltaic cells known as multijunction cells.
