Environmental protection

Without energy, there can be no life. To preserve long-term energy supplies, we must manage our planet’s resources carefully and minimize their environmental impacts. AREVA is committed to reducing what it consumes and what it releases, and to minimizing in the extreme its residual impacts on the natural environment and on the public.
Controlling environmental risks
AREVA is committed to reducing its environmental footprint. Its policy in this regard is based on six important commitments.
Improving the group’s eco-efficiency
To protect its environment, AREVA has set ambitious goals for reducing its consumption of water and energy, its production of waste, and its liquid and gaseous releases.
Managing environmental legacies
All industrial activities have environmental impacts. AREVA is committed to reducing them to as low as reasonably achievable by continuously monitoring the environment around its sites so that corrective action can be taken quickly if needed.
