FRANCE: CŒURS-A-LIRE

Developing or restoring the ability to read
The Cœurs-à-lire network gathers associations in the fight against illiteracy in Île-de-France. The AREVA Foundation supports its efforts by financing training for instructors who help adults to (re)learn the basics of reading.
170 ASSOCIATIONS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST ILLITERACY
Cœurs-à-lire is a network of 170 associations dedicated to the prevention of and fight against illiteracy in Île-de-France. Their aim is to help those who do not possess a sufficient level of basic reading knowledge to live independently. Through their efforts, they help 15,000 people, including both children and adults.
Cœurs-à-lire assists tutors in the field, offering teaching assistance and innovative tools. It also gives them the chance to promote their work to institutions or financers.
TUTOR TRAINING
The AREVA Foundation financially supports the training of 150 volunteers who conduct workshops for adults aimed at (re)learning the basics of reading.
