NIGER: ASSOCIATION POUR L’UNIFICATION DU DROIT EN AFRIQUE

Purchase of law references for legal practitioners
AREVA supports the promotion and dissemination of law in the countries where it is active. The group has therefore renewed its support for the Association pour l’Unification du Droit en Afrique by purchasing code books and law texts for Niger.
TOWARDS UNIFIED LAW
The Organisation pour l’Harmonisation en Afrique du Droit des Affaires (OHADA) includes 14 African nations from the CFA Franc zone, as well as Comoros and Guinea. Its mission is to lead these countries towards unified business law.
At the same time, the Association pour l’Unification du Droit en Afrique (UNIDA) works to promote and disseminate OHADA law, notably by mobilizing private funds.
MORE THAN 1,500 LEGAL REPORTS FOR NIGER
In Niger, a country where AREVA operates, judges and legal representatives lacked OHADA code books and manuals. This need was relayed to the group by UNIDA. AREVA responded by financing the purchase of an OHADA law report for Nigerien jurisdictions.
