France: scholarships for young, high-performing students
The Frateli association has been pairing experienced young professionals with young, high-performing students in a mentoring relationship since 2004. Students from modest backgrounds who have passed their baccalauréat with honors or top honors are the beneficiaries.
The association currently sponsors 650 such mentoring relationships. In addition to the personalized attention, mentorees benefit from a number of related services, including training workshops, cultural activities (museums, concerts, theatre) and networking opportunities (meetings, social networks, blogs).
The objective is to encourage the students’ talents to emerge by giving them the tools, methods, network access and confidence necessary to achieve their potential.
Scholarships
The Foundation has renewed its commitment for a period of two years (2012-2013, 2013-2014) to ensure ongoing support to those who receive the scholarships.
Since 2010, the AREVA Foundation decided to award scholarships to young students supported by Frateli and who have chosen a course of study in the scientific fields.
The scholarship is tailored to each student based on family resources and the aid that he or she already receives.
AREVA employees get involved
In addition to financial aid from the Foundation, group employees volunteer to support the students up until they start their first jobs.
