AREVA Foundation supports renovation of a residential care unit for AIDS patients

The Maison des Lumières (“house of light”), a residential care unit in Magny-en-Vexin, France, cares for AIDS patients in need of treatment and care specific to their pathologies. The establishment, which opened its doors in 2001, was in need of renovations and medical equipment. Through its support of SIDACTION, AREVA Foundation aims to improve patients’ treatment and quality of life.
Special care
Every year, some 600 HIV-positive people develop AIDS-related neurological disorders. Of these patients, the after-effects of the illness leave about a hundred dependent and significantly incapacitated (inability or difficulty speaking, moving around, performing simple daily tasks such as eating or washing themselves).
There are only three residential care units in France capable of caring for them. Thanks to your donations during the SIDACTION fundraising campaign, matched by a donation from the Foundation, we helped equip one of these units, in Seine-Saint-Denis.
The fight against AIDS: AREVA Foundation strongly committed
