Brazil: Year of France

2009: Honoring French culture
Year of France in Brazil provides an opportunity to showcase French skills and expertise in various regions of Brazil. To this end, AREVA joined a patronage committee and is funding artistic events in collaboration with Culturesfrance.
2009: Year of France in Brazil
This event was the result of a decision by the French and Brazilian presidents in 2006. It follows a Year of Brazil in France.
It offers France a chance to showcase the many facets of its skills and expertise in the areas of culture, science, technology and economics in various regions of Brazil.
A taste for the arts
As part of this initiative, and in collaboration with Culturesfrance, AREVA joined a patronage committee. This committee provides financial support to projects in France and Brazil that have been chosen by the French and Brazilian commissions for the year of celebration.
AREVA funded the Year of France launch event—a fireworks display in Rio—on April 21, 2009.
