China: Chinese Cultural Center in Paris

Promoting cultural exchanges between France and China
The Chinese Cultural Center in the French capital is the first of its kind in Europe. It aims to promote Franco-Chinese relations. AREVA wishes to highlight this vast country’s heritage by providing financial support for an exhibit.
Discovering China
Created in November 2002, the Chinese Cultural Center in Paris is the first official cultural institution from China to be established in a Western country.
Its aim is to encourage and promote relationships and exchanges between France and China. It is devoted to developing a mutual understanding of the 2 cultures and bringing together people and organizations interested in these exchanges.
As part of this initiative, the Cultural Center hosted an exhibit entitled the Trésor de Dunhuang – Les grottes de Mogao—a UNESCO World Heritage site—between November 2008 and February 2009.
AREVA, with its strong presence in China and a desire to promote Chinese national heritage, became involved with this project.
