United States: Habitat for Humanity

Because everyone deserves decent housing
AREVA partners with the Habitat for Humanity program in the United States. The group provides financial support to construct homes for disadvantaged families. AREVA employees volunteer on construction projects.
Close involvement of AREVA employees
The partnership with Habitat for Humanity is a chance for AREVA employees to participate in housing improvement projects around the 3 main sites of the group's subsidiary: Lynchburg, Charlotte and Richland.
The group's volunteer employees work with future homeowners to construct their homes and build their dreams.
A new house every year
In 2005, more than 100 AREVA employees in Charlotte helped build Habitat for Humanity’s 100th house. AREVA also provided financial support for the ”Raise the roof for Rosa” project, Rosa being the home's delighted owner.
In 2006, 100 AREVA employees from Lynchburg tackled the construction of a 3-bedroom home for Yvonne White and her 4 children. The house was finished in record time: 2 weeks.
In 2007, more than 75 volunteer employees from Richland helped construct a 2-bedroom home for an Afghani widow and her 3 children. In June 2007, the family moved in.
