Showcasing a modern and creative Finnish culture
AREVA has supported cultural exchanges between France and Finland, particularly through the 100% Finland program. This program, which includes periodic cultural events, invites people in France to discover Finland’s innovative spirit. It is a chance to extend ties between Finland and France as part of the delivery of an EPR™ reactor.
Extending Franco-Finnish ties
A world leader in nuclear energy, the group is working on one of its flagship projects in Finland: delivering an EPR™, the world's first third-generation reactor, to utility TVO.
This EPR™ reactor occupies an important place in the AREVA strategy. It constitutes the first in a series, an indispensable technological showcase, in an international market in full growth. This project, one of the decade's largest in Europe, began in 2005 and will mobilize up to 3,000 people on-site. Commercial operation of the reactor should begin in 2011.
Promoting Finnish culture
AREVA is proud to acknowledge the ties that unite Finland and France by supporting cultural exchanges between the 2 countries. The group partners with the 100% Finland program, which was held in France between April and June 2008. The program aimed to support a modern Finnish culture that is creative and accessible.
