China: Red Cross

Support for the victims of the 2008 earthquake: family emergency kits and food aid
AREVA mobilized to help victims of the earthquake that hit on May 12, 2008. In particular, the group supported China’s Red Cross with a donation of 100,000 euros.
AREVA, partner of the Red Cross
AREVA China mobilized quickly following the May 12 earthquake that shook China’s Sichuan province. The group chose to partner with the Red Cross, one of 2 organizations authorized by the Chinese government to collect donations.
AREVA had collaborated with this organization in previous emergency situations, after an earthquake in Pakistan in 2005 and Cyclone Sidr in Bangladesh in 2007 in particular.
Distribution of family emergency kits
AREVA's donation of 100,000 euros financed emergency family kits (soap, kitchen utensils, etc.). One kit is enough to meet the needs of a family of 5 for 1 month.
Aid on the ground
AREVA’s teams operate directly in the field, organizing and distributing initial food aid for the earthquake victims.
