Indonesia: CARE International
Supporting victims of the South Asian tsunami with emergency kits
Following the catastrophe that unfolded in Asia, AREVA supported a project carried out by CARE International. This aid was primarily in the form of emergency kits in Indonesia.
Financial and material aid
Following the December 26, 2004 tsunami, AREVA provided support to CARE International, an organization carrying out a relief project in Indonesia.
AREVA contributed 150,000 euros, which made it possible to provide victims with emergency kits made up of tents, food aid and water purification equipment. CARE International focused these efforts on the province of Aceh.
As a result, 500,000 people received support for 6 months.
AREVA also offered to donate an electrical conversion substation in order to restore the power network
