AREVA's mining activities

The Mining business group covers exploration, extraction and processing of uranium ore and the reclamation of sites after production has finished. AREVA is the third largest uranium producer in the world, with a market share of around 14.6% in 2008. The group holds a broad portfolio of mines in operation (Canada, Kazakhstan and Niger), as well as projects under development (Africa).

Latest generation (III+) reactor models

AREVA offers a portfolio of three latest generation (III+) reactor models intended for use in nuclear power plants: EPR™, ATMEA1™ and KERENA™. They allow electricity providers to achieve their competitiveness, safety and power generation capacity objectives. The power range of these reactors goes from 1,100 MWe to more than 1,650 MWe.

The renewable energies

The Renewable Energies Business Group is at the heart of AREVA's industrial strategy. It currently covers four areas: wind energy, bioenergy, solar power and hydrogen power, as well as energy storage. This diversified portfolio places the group well ahead in the development of CO2 free electricity production solutions. It enables trends to be followed in a market in which clients are demanding greater diversification.
