Spain's oldest nuclear power plant to shut down in 2006

CSN, the Spanish nuclear regulatory authority, has granted a 4-year operating license extension to the Zorita power plant. The plant will close in 2006, 38 years after entering service. Union Fenosa, the utility owner, is to submit a decommissioning plan for the power plant to CSN by 2004.
