Italy: The atom is our future, we must invest in making it safer

Carlo Rubbia, Nobel Prize winner and commissioner of the Italian Institute for Atomic Energy, is convinced that there is a reasonable solution to the energy issue and that risk-free power plants are within our reach in the next fifteen years if countries invest seriously in nuclear research. France in particular is conducting research on new directions for the future. With Italy expected to reconsider its atomic energy policy, it is imperative that its scientists participate in research being conducted by other nations.
