U.S. Senate approves Yucca Mountain repository

After twenty years of debate, the U.S. Senate has just approved Yucca Mountain site for spent fuel and high-level waste disposal. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is not expected to rule on the license request before mid-August, following the 45-day comment period.
