Nuclear power outpaced other energy sources in 2001

The 2002 edition of the Statistical Review of World Energy indicates increased consumption of nuclear-generated power in 2001, which went from 585 mtoe (metric tons of oil equivalent) in 2000 to 601.2 mtoe in 2001. Nuclear power provided 6.6% of all energy consumed worldwide in 2001, compared with 6.4% in 2000.
