European Commission supports nuclear power

In a June 14 speech at The Hague, European Internal Market Commissioner Frits Bolkestein indicated his support for nuclear power and called for a review of nuclear power moratoriums and bans imposed in certain countries. According to Bolkestein, nuclear power will make a crucial long-term contribution to European energy programs.
