First unit of Ling Ao power station enters service in China

The first unit of the Ling Ao power plant came on line 48 days ahead of schedule. The second unit is also in advance, with fuel loading expected in mid-July and commercial startup in March 2003. FRAMATOME, with 90 power plants to its credit, brought its reactor construction experience to bear on the Ling Ao station, as well as the latest advances in safety, availability, equipment and systems reliability, health physics, and operating cost reductions. This is the second large power plant to be built in Guangdong province in southern China, after Daya Bay.
