Finnish Parliament approves construction of fifth reactor

By a vote of 107 to 92, the Finnish Parliament approved the construction of a fifth reactor on 24 May. TVO, the Finnish power company, will operate the reactor. Paavo Lipponen, the Prime Minister of Finland, was pleased with the decision, indicating that will make the country less dependent on imports, decrease greenhouse gas emissions, and more easily achieve his economic growth objectives for the country.
