Brief
November 07, 2002
The Swedish government is preparing to send two independent reports on the shutdown of Barsebaeck-2 to some one hundred organizations for review and comment. The reports show that the reactor's shutdown could cause power outages and increase electric rates. It is also expected to increase reliance on fossil fuels in Denmark and Germany and thus increase greenhouse gas emissions.
