Russia plans to deliver nuclear fuel to Poland

Brief

November 21, 2002

Russia is planning to deliver enriched nuclear fuel to Poland's atomic energy institute in Œwierk, near Warsaw, for its Maria test reactor. The fuel will be supplied in the 2002-2003 time frame by TVEL, the state-owned company with the Russian monopoly for nuclear fuel fabrication and exports. The shipments are subject to non-proliferation rules enforced by the Ministry for Atomic Energy of the Russian Federation.
