Melox upgrades: official public inquiry begins

On 23 October, Roselyne Bachelot, French minister of the Ecology and Sustainable Development, and Nicole Fontaine, deputy minister of industry, officially requested that the Prefect of the Gard department open a public inquiry on increasing MOX fuel fabrication capacity at the Marcoule site's Melox plant. The upgrades will be "limited to transferring capacity" from COGEMA's Cadarache plant, scheduled to close in the near future due to seismic conditions
