France launches national energy debate

On 8 January, French delegate minister of industry Nicole Fontaine came before the Council of Ministers to present an outline of an energy debate to be held in May 2003 during which the French public may have a say in national energy choices for the next 30 years. The debate will be capped with a seminar in Paris on 23-24 May.
