Switzerland votes to keep nuclear power

On 18 May, the Swiss opted by referendum to keep nuclear power, turning down a proposal by the anti-nuclear group Sortir du Nucléaire (Exit Nuclear Power) to shut down all power plants by 2014 by a 66.2% vote and rejecting another proposal by Moratoire Plus (Moratorium Plus) to renew the 1990 moratorium on new facility construction by a 58.4% vote.
