U.S. and China sign nuclear technology transfer agreement

Spencer Abraham, U.S. secretary of energy, and Zhang Huazhu, head of the Chinese atomic energy agency, have signed a bilateral technology transfer agreement that will have the effect of opening the Chinese market to U.S. nuclear companies. China has agreed to comply with the terms of the Non Proliferation Treaty and not to transfer technologies received under the agreement to other countries.
