Treatment activity :
During this week, the Establishment treated 28.58 tons of spent fuel assemblies from EDF power plants. From all treated assemblies, a total of 606.83 tons have been processed to date this year. Four of the six lines of vitrification of fission products were in service.
Since the beginning of the year, 352 canisters have been produced. It should be noted that the facility of hulls compaction (ACC) produced 89 canisters of compacted(1) residues since its startup at the end of the year 2001.

Shipment activity :
September the 6th, at 9h44m a shipment containing one cask of 7 spent fuel assemblies coming from netherland power plant of Borssele(2) arrived at the railway terminal of Valognes. It was the fourth shipement of year 2002.

(1)It is about the metal envelope of the spent fuel assemblies as well as metal waste resulting from maintenance operations of the installations.
