Treatment activity :
During this period, the Establishment treated (1) 5 tons of fuel assemblies from a batch of GROHNDE and OBRIGHEIM fuel (1300 MW) . From all treated assemblies, a total of 217.5 tons have been processed to date this year. Three of the six lines of vitrification of fission products were in service. The maintenance operations continued on the other lines. Since the beginning of the year, 80 canisters have been produced. It should be noted that the facility of compaction of hulls (ACC) produced 15 canisters of residues compacted (1) since its startup at the end of 2001.

The actuality, it is also... The reconnaissance mission on the site of disassembling, in its zone of marling, of the old pipe of releases is in progress.
The results of analyses of the samples performed in accordance with the specific programme of monitoring of the environment of the site are all lower than 1 Bq/g.

(1)the Treatment consists in separating, within spent fuel, on the one hand, the reusable materials.
