UP2 plant :
At the UP2 plant, shearing of fuel assemblies from a batch of 1300 MWe EDF fuel is in progress in the R1 head-end facility.
A total of 183 metric tons of uranium have been processed to date this year.

At the R7 vitrification facility, lines A and B are in service, line C is on standby.
A total of 158 canisters of glass have been produced to date this year.

UP3 plant :
The T1 head-end facility started again on Wednesday the 16th of May shearing fuel assemblies from Biblis*.

At the T7 vitrification facility, line B is in service, lines A and C are on standby.
A total of 108 canisters of glass have been produced to date this year.

On May the 15th of 2001, the COGEMA-La Hague plant has obtained ISO 14001 certification, certification relative to environmental management.
This certification awarded by the AFAQ (French Quality Control Agency) cover all the activities of "interim storage, the reprocessing of nuclear fuels, and the processing and conditioning of recyclable material and waste".
This acknowledgement, awarded by an independent organism, is proof of the commitment and will of COGEMA to control the impact its activity has on the environment.
