Spent fuel coming from Germany arriving at the Valognes rail terminal

Five casks of spent fuel from German nuclear power plants are arrived at the COGEMA railway terminal in Valognes on July 30th.
All of the fuel assemblies will be cooled in storage pools at La Hague and will then be reprocessed to recover recyclable materials and separate and condition final waste, which will be returned to Germany for disposal.
