Completion of the third transport of vitrified residues from France to Switzerland

As announced by COGEMA on October, 10 th, a cask of vitrified residues is scheduled to leave the railway terminal in Valognes (France) today and reach Switzerland from october, 16th.
This cask, a Castor HAW 20/28 CG model, contains 28 canisters of vitrified residues. Upon its arrival in Würenlingen, it will be loaded on a specific road trail to be transfered to the storage facility of Zwilag (Switzerland).
These cask and canisters have already been subjected to the regulatory and contractual controls allowing their transport from the COGEMA La Hague reprocessing plant.
