AREVA has, on its La Hague site, workshops for the compaction of structural and technological waste, and the treatment of active liquid effluents. These operations enable the volume of waste to be reduced by a factor of 5 and storage and transportation to be optimized.

A shipment of spent fuel from the Borssele nuclear power plant (Netherlands), announced on december 10th, has arrived at the Valognes railway terminal serving COGEMA-La Hague on december 12th, 2002.
