Treatment activity:

During this period, the Establishment treated 29 tons of spent fuel assemblies coming from power stations EDF.

From all treated assemblies, a total of 568 tons have been processed to date this year..

During this period, 4 canisters of vitrified fission products have been produced.
Since the beginning of the year, 275 canisters have been produced.

Since the beginning of the year, the facility of hulls compaction (ACC) produced 310 canisters of compacted residues.

Starting of work of Inter-Campaign 2003

Like each year, the majority of the UP2 and UP3  facilities are shut down to allow rinsings, as well as modifications, work of preventive or corrective maintenance and controls according to regulations.

This tasks are carried out in the permanent concern to maintain the tool on level and to respect the production plan.

This important period in the life of the establishment represents tens of thousands of working hours. It thus acts each year of an investment and an important challenge for COGEMA employees and subcontractors.

Even if many operations are envisaged this summer, it is important to recall that the main maintenance work is held throughout the year.
