At the UP2 plant, shearing of fuel assemblies from a batch of 900 MWe EDF fuel continued in the R1 head-end facility. A total of 165 metric tons of uranium have been processed to date this year.

At the R7 vitrification facility, lines A and B are in service. Line C is on stand-by. A total of 75 canisters of glass have been produced to date this year.

At the UP3 plant, shearing of fuel elements from PHILIPPSBURG* is in progress in the T1 head-end facility. A total of 58 metric tons of uranium have been processed to date this year.

At the T7 vitrification facility, line B is in service, lines A and C are on stand-by. A total of 42 canisters of glass have been produced to date this year.


Work in the Moulinets Cove

Work continues on modifications to the discharge pipe in the tidal basin:

  • the final, lower profile of the sea discharge pipe was achieved on March 17;
  • radiological monitoring and leak-tightness tests have revealed no anomalies;
  • work will continue with the placement of a concrete cover over the pipe to make it inaccessible during very low tides.
