At the UP2 plant, shearing of fuel elements from a batch of EDF 1300 MWe fuel continued in the R1 head-end facility. A total of 849 metric tons of uranium have been sheared to date this year.
At the R7 vitrification facility, lines A and B are in operation. Line C is on stand-by. 19 canisters of glass were produced this week. A total of 249 canisters of glass have been produced to date this year.
At the UP3 plant, shearing of fuel elements from HAMAOKA* continued in the T1 head-end facility. A total of 700 metric tons of uranium have been sheared to date this year.
At the T7 vitrification facility, lines A, B and C are on stand-by. A total of 358 canisters of glass have been produced to date this year.
Work in the Moulinets Cove
Work continues on modifications to the discharge pipe in the tidal basin:
- radiological monitoring of sediments has revealed no anomalies, although there are fluctuations close to the old discharge pipe;
- underwater excavation at the nose of the incline continues despite difficult oceanic and meteorological conditions.
