Arrival of spent fuel from Germany at the Valognes railway terminal

Six casks of spent fuel from German nuclear power plants arrived at COGEMA Logistics railway terminal in Valognes on August 21st, 2003, at 12:20 am.
The fuel elements will be stored at the La Hague pools for cooling, and will be then reprocessed to recover valuable materials and condition the final waste for return to Germany for disposal.
