Treatment activity:

During this period, the UP2 800 and UP3 plants treated 5.5 tons of spent fuel assemblies from EDF, french power plants.
From all treated assemblies, a total of 1100.5 tons have been processed to date this year.

During this period, 16 canisters of vitrified fission products have been produced(1) in T7 and R7, vitrification facilities.
Since the beginning of the year, 636 canisters have been produced.

The facility of hulls compaction (ACC) produced 27 canister of compacted residues.
Since the beginning of the year, 1023 canisters have been produced.

One shipment of  2 cask (TN12/2) of 24 spent fuel assemblies from Göesgen (Switzerland) arrived at the Valognes railway terminal on the December, 10th at 9:43 am. It correspond to 10.25 uranium tons, which allowed to supply 430 000 persons with electricity during one year.

                       
                                                                                                                                                                                                                 
(1)The fission products (ultimate residues of spent fuel) are incorporated in heated glass to approximately 1100°C. The whole is poured in stainless steel containers. The fission products are an integral part of stable, compact and resistant glass. This process is called vitrification.
