Spent fuel coming from Germany to France

According to the contract signed between German utilities and COGEMA, and following intergovernmental agreements between France and Germany, part of the spent fuel from German nuclear power plants is sent to France for reprocessing.
In accordance with these commitments, a shipment of four casks containing spent fuel has left the German nuclear power plant of Stade on February 16th, 2005. It should reach the COGEMA Logistics rail terminal located in Valognes from February 17th.
This operation strictly conforms to national and international regulations.
