Transport of spent fuel from the Netherlands to France

A transport of two casks of nuclear spent fuel left the power plant of Borssele (Netherlands) on December 12th, 2005. This shipment is expected to arrive at the COGEMA Logistics railway terminal of Valognes on December 14th in the morning.
The transport casks fully comply with the very strict standards defined by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Nuclear material transportation meets national and international regulations that guarantee a high level of safety.
