Treatment activity:


During this period, the UP2 800 and UP3 plants have not treated spent fuel.

The facility of hulls compaction (ACC) produced 11 canisters of compacted residues.

For 2005, the facilities of the plant reached or exceeded the objectives of production fixed at the beginning of the year. So, the  facility of hulls compaction produced 1221 containers and the R7 and T7  vitrification facilities reach (almost) an historic record in the production of residues glazed with 903 CSD-V.



(1)The fission products (ultimate residues of spent fuel) are incorporated in heated glass to approximately 1100°C. The whole is poured in stainless steel containers. The fission products are an integral part of stable, compact and resistant glass. This process is called vitrification.
