Gérald ARBOLA, Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Board of AREVA, has been appointed President of the Supervisory Board of STMicroelectronics.
AREVA holds an indirect 11% stake in STMicroelectronics.
Gérald ARBOLA, 56, graduate of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques of Paris with an advanced degree in economics. Mr. Arbola joined SGN, the engineering subsidiary, in 1982 as Director of Strategic Planning and Analysis. He was Chief Financial Officer of SGN from 1985 to 1989 and became Executive Vice President of that company in 1988. He joined COGEMA in 1992 as Chief Financial Officer and became a member of the Executive Committee in 1999 while serving as Chairman of the Board of SGN in 1997 and 1998. On September 3, 2001, he was appointed CFO and member of the Executive Board of AREVA.
