AREVA and Sustainable Development Week, May 30 to June 3, 2005
News brief
GROUP / SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
June 03, 2005
Sustainable Development Week, promoted by the Ministry for Ecology and Sustainable Development, has become an annual event in France and is being held this year from May 30 through June 3.
Designed for companies and the general public, the aim is to explain what sustainable development really means and to heighten awareness of an issue that none of us can afford to ignore.
Sustainable development is at the heart of AREVA's operations and underpins the industrial strategy deployed by the group to meet its objectives of economic growth, social responsibility and respect for the environment.
AREVA prefers facts to declarations of intent and has developed its own AREVA Way continuous improvement approach. Used by all the group's entities, it comprises a self-assessment model for measuring the year-on-year progress being made with AREVA's sustainable development commitments.
Sustainable development is an issue of planetary importance that can be made a reality through the concrete action we take daily in our personal and professional lives.
This is why AREVA and its subsidiaries are participating actively in Sustainable Development Week. Events are being organized on many of its sites to increase employee involvement in the sustainable development approach being deployed within the group.
