March 09, 2010
AREVA’s patronage work has been awarded the 2009/2010 Creators Without Borders trophy, a prize bestowed by Culturesfrance, the agency of the French ministries of Foreign Affairs and Culture and Communication responsible for international cultural exchanges.
French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner and Frédéric Mitterrand, Minister of Culture and Communication, presented the award to Jacques-Emmanuel Saulnier, AREVA Senior Vice President, Communications, and member of the AREVA Foundation Board. Nine other trophies were awarded to artists, writers and arts figures who helped to spread French culture abroad.
AREVA took the opportunity in 2009, the Year of France in Brazil, to join the initiatives to promote culture, science, technology, economics and sport in this country, where the group has been present for nearly twenty years. AREVA was also a patron of the Season of Turkish Culture in France, from July 2009 to March 2010, when more than 400 cultural, economic and intellectual events were held in French towns to present Turkey and its thriving and historic links with France.
