AREVA is represented at the 5th Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) Global Conference to be held in Paris on March 2nd and 3rd.
The EITI is a process through which government revenues generated by extractive industries are published in independently audited reports. AREVA was one of the first multinational firms to join in June 2003. Six countries in which the group is present through its mining activities have taken part in this responsible and sustainable approach: Niger, Gabon, Kazakhstan, Ivory Coast, Central African Republic, and Mongolia.
The EITI Global Conference is held every two years and is the main event on the Initiative’s calendar. All EITI stakeholders are invited to share their experiences and come together to reflect on the future of transparency in extractive industries. This year, the conference will host more than 60 speakers including leaders from governments, businesses and international organizations.
