Eight experts have joined the team already in place in Tokyo. Specialized in used fuel management, radioactive effluent decontamination, contaminated site management and boiling water reactors, among other things, they will examine what help can be provided to Tepco on these different topics.
They were integrated into the AREVA Japan team over the weekend and joined work groups in which specialists in effluent treatment and radiation protection previously sent by the group are already involved.
AREVA has decided in this way to increase its technical support to the Japanese power company Tokyo Electric Power (Tepco) to help it deal with the consequences of the March 11 tsunami on the damaged Fukushima power plant.
Our German, American and French colleagues come from the Back End business group, the Reactors & Services business group, and the Engineering & Projects organization. They have backup support from work groups set up by AREVA teams in the different countries.
