On March 29, KATCO produced its 10,000th ton of yellowcake, almost 10 years after the startup of the pilot unit at the Muyunkum South deposit in Kazakhstan.
This milestone was reached thanks to the outstanding work of all the KATCO teams since the company’s founding, first in the exploration and development phases and now in the exploitation of the deposits.
“KATCO’s mines are seen as a model industrial operation in Kazakhstan. Their excellence is shown by the high level of skills attained by the workforce and the safety standards applied at the site,” says Konrad Schauer, the head of AREVA Kazakhstan.
This event will be celebrated in an official ceremony in the coming months.
